Healthy Snacks
Description: The students were learning about the importance of choosing healthy snacks. Part of the classroom project was to create a commercial to demonstrate awareness of healthy choices, and convince a consumer to purchase the healthy vegetables rather than the unhealthy "junk" snacks.
Reflection: The commercials turned out really cute. I taped them with the Flip Video Camera, but did have difficulty transferring the videos into the proper format to compile into Windows Movie Maker. The result is a compressed version of what actually happened. I don't think this Vodcast paints a true picture of what happened in the lesson, and it was difficult to hear. But, as I become more proficient with the technology, hopefully this will lessen. The students would enjoy seeing the videos in this format, and it would be a great resource to share with parents.
Video #2- A Day in the Life
A Day in the Life of a Kindergartener
Description: This video shows clips of kindergartners participating in calendar activities, dance, and writing. It provides the viewer with a glimpse into the day of a kindergarten student.
Reflection: I think my technology hindered me on this one. The laptop I was using is out of date, which forced me to cut some of my clips and shorten it so that I could upload smoothly. Once I transferred it to a desktop computer, things went more smoothly. That being said, this is not the end product I was looking for, but a learning process nonetheless. I am hoping that in the future, I will have the time to transfer all of the clips and make a more finished product that satisfies the goal I was intending.
